HyLICON: hardware and software for a smarter industrial energy system

AMELA and HyER Power are developing an integrated energy solution for industry, intelligently connecting hydrogen, heat and electricity.

HyLICON connects physical energy technology with software for substantiated decisions before and during operation.

From energy technology to system optimisation

HyER Power is further developing its hardware solution, using fuel-cell technology to convert hydrogen into electricity and heat. AMELA is developing AmeLYZE to determine the optimal size and configuration within the overall energy system using available data.

Hardware and software as one energy system

With AmeLYZE, we are developing decision support for the preparation phase and a digital twin of the energy system. This enables scenarios to be evaluated in advance and optimal settings to be determined for operation.

Making smarter use of available energy

We investigate how locally available energy can be used efficiently, how electricity-grid peak loads can be reduced and how CO₂ emissions can be lowered. The software helps monitor performance and adjust it when needed.

From development to industrial application

In a later project phase, the combined solution will be implemented and tested in an industrial environment. This jointly validates and further develops hardware and software towards a scalable solution.

The project is carried out by AMELA Process Optimization and HyER Power, with Wederic supporting the funding process.
